Route Map

Walk up the tarmac road towards the reservoirs for a short distance until you reach a wooden building on your left. At this point a stony track heads off to your right. Follow this track for a short distance until it turns left where you want to leave it to head up the hill on quad bike tracks.
The quad bike tracks can be followed all the way up to the summit of Common Hill with it’s small lochan. The tracks continue beyond Common Hill heading over towards Wether Hill. If you lose the tracks just head in the right general direction over tussocky grass and you will come across them again. There are some damp sections of ground to be negotiated before reaching the summit of Wether Hill (502m).
Leave the summit in a north easterly direction on an obvious quad bike track with views over Strathearn in front of you. The track takes you all the way down the hill to reach a padlocked gate at a field corner.
Climb the gate into the field and keep to the outside of the fence in front of you (don’t cross the stile over the deer fence). A grassy track heads across the field to reach the north east corner. The track bears right into woodland and becomes a proper track for a while. Follow it through the woods as it turns south. All gates from now on on this section are unlocked.
This track will now take you all the way back to your start point, firstly through woodland and then through more open farmland. The track is the route of the old drove road through Glen Eagles and makes a very pleasant undulating walk with views of the surrounding hills.
