A few changes

Spring lambs near Windygates

A few changes are on the way for Fife Walking.

As many of you know the site is the work of one person in their spare time. As such it can be a time consuming process keeping it updated and adding new routes to it. It is becoming increasing difficult to dedicate this time to the site. So, in order to make things easier I’ve come to the decision that it is best to focus on Fife and areas nearer to home (which is what most users of the site are using it for anyway).

Going forward the intention is to restrict the area the routes cover to Fife and the Ochils. Basically the area bounded by the Firth of Tay, Firth of Forth and Strathallan. There may be one or two routes just over these borders that sneak on to the site!

The previously published routes have been archived (not deleted) so if you have been looking at something with a view to doing it in the future and it is no longer on the site, please do get in touch and I can send you a copy of the relevant page.

Hopefully going forward, this will keep the site a bit more streamlined and easier to maintain as about 80 pages have now been removed.

Thanks for your understanding.

The Uplands of Fife section is currently being expanded to include the Fife SubTumps (20 – 29m prominence) and TumpBeags (15 – 19m prominence). Yes, that means more “hills” for those of you that are working your way through the Fife hills.
