East Fife Walks

The east of Fife is primarily known by the walker for its picturesque coast line. The Fife Coastal Path takes in all of this coast and explores the fishing villages, harbours and open coast. There are walks suggested below that aim to provide a circular option by using the coastal path in one direction followed by a return using inland paths and tracks. For the best views out to sea and over the low lying farmland, try climbing some of the wee hills like Largo Law or Kellie Law.

Largo Law (and Keil’s Den)

Hills: Largo Law (290m), Craig Rock (235m)

At just 290m Largo Law is a distinctive ancient volcano in the flat landscape of the East Neuk and has the accolade of being the 10^th highest hill in Fife. To its east lies the attractive outlier of Craig Rock where an old hillfort may have been located.

Hills: Clatto Hill (248m), Down Law (241m), Dunicher Law (240m), Drumcarrow Craig (218m), Flagstaff Hill (214m), Pepper Knowe (212m), Fleecefaulds Hill (210m), Caskerdo Hill (202m), Walton Hill (188m), Kellie Law (184m), Clatto Hill North (168m), Hill of Kirkforthar (157m), Balcarres Craig (123m).

These hills are all Tumps (hills with 30m prominence) with Largo Law as their parent Marilyn. Most of them are likely to appeal more to the hill enthusiast rather than the casual walker as access is not always straightforward..

Leven and Lundin Links

A circular route between Leven and Lundin Links. The outward route is along the coastal path / beach whilst the return route is through Lundin Woods and Letham Glen. Two options are described depending upon the distance you wish to walk.
